A Beginning Rooted in Gratitude
No Turning Back
This moment feels like both a beginning and a homecoming.
I’m incredibly humbled to share that I’ve officially launched Luminance Art Studio—a space dedicated to telling stories through color, memory, and emotion. It’s been a journey years in the making. For so long, art was something I quietly carried inside me. Now, I’ve found the courage to let it speak out loud.
Even more humbling is the news that I’ve been selected to show my work in a local exhibit honoring Juneteenth. This opportunity means more than I can fully express. As a bi-racial woman with deep Southern roots—Lubbock, Texas on one side, Sandy Island, South Carolina on the other—this exhibit connects to the very heart of why I paint. It’s about legacy, identity, and the power of being seen.
None of this would be possible without the support and encouragement from friends, family, and the quiet voice inside that kept whispering, “create.” I’m still learning, still growing, and still finding my way—but I’m doing it with open hands and a grateful heart.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for seeing me.
The studio is now live, and my portfolio is open to explore. I hope something in the work speaks to a part of you, too.
With gratitude,
Katrina “KT” Tidwell
